Pre-Purchase Examinations

Pre-purchase examinations are performed on behalf of a potential buyer. Some or all of the following will be performed depending on the needs of the client:

• Complete physical exam.
• Lameness Exam – flexion tests, lunge “in-hand” and “under saddle” (if requested).
• X-rays – as requested by the client.
• Other possible tests may include complete blood work, which evaluates organ function and health, drug testing, rectal exam, ultrasound (for broodmare in particular).

Expect this exam to take anywhere from 1-3 hours, depending on the client’s requests. It can be done in-clinic and on the farm.
