Behavioural Services

It is common for our furry family members to be mischievous from time to time, especially in their younger years. But, if their naughty behaviours are no longer just isolated events and have developed into problematic habits, then it may be time to seek our opinion. Over the years, we have helped treat aggression, anxiety and other behavioural conditions in dogs, cats and other pets. You are welcome to call us at 902.543.5602 to see if our services are right for you.

What is pet behaviour therapy?

After the initial consultation with our veterinarians and other team members, you will learn practical skills to help manage and stop unwanted behaviours in your pet and to also prevent further behavioural problems from forming. Each treatment plan created by our team will vary depending on each patient.

When should my pet see a behaviour counsellor?

If your pet’s actions or habits are causing harm to them, other animals and other people around you it may be time to seek our help. If they are disrupting your routine/ schedule or causing mess/damage to your home, then it is also a good idea to reach out to us.

How much does pet behavioural counselling cost?

Counselling typically requires multiple sessions and additional treatments may be recommended depending on your pet’s case (e.g., acupuncture, prescription diets). It is difficult to provide a general price range so it is best to call us for the most accurate estimate. You may also want to check with your pet insurance provider as behavioural counselling is covered in a number of plans.
