Why join us

South Shore Veterinary Hospital is the longest standing veterinary practice on the South Shore located just on the outskirts of Bridgewater, in Wileville. We have been serving this beautiful Nova Scotia community for over 50 years. Although we have grown immensely since those humble beginnings, we never forget where we came from, along with the pets and clients who brought us to where we are today. We strive for exceptional customer service, coupled with quality and compassionate animal care. Our main focus is house pets and horses, but we also provide medical treatments for cattle, sheep and goats. Some of the many services we offer in hospital are full laboratory work (e.g. blood testing, urinalysis, fecal analysis), endoscopy, ultrasound, acupuncture and digital X-rays. We also have a mobile equine farm team who perform house calls.

Outside of our rewarding work, our team takes great joy in living and being a part of our peaceful and rural community. Wileville is located in Lunenburg County, on the South Shore of the province. We are surrounded by lush forests, farms, parklands as well as several breathtaking lakes which contribute to our tranquil and invigorating environment.

Read What Our Clients Say

  • "I wanted to thank you again for your help last Friday. There are many animals on my farm. I love them all but I was particularly fond of little Gabby. It was only a couple weeks ago we saw her rolling in the dirt and so delighted with herself and I remember how she loved to lay on Jeff's chair and bat the tail of our other cat as she walked by. I had hoped she could have experienced more of these joys in her life.
Your skill in diagnosing and presenting her case and your compassion in helping me understand what was best for Gabby was very much appreciated."
